Patrick Vena has been invited to perform in Brasilia, Brazil. The concert is organized by the guitar society of Brasilia, BRAVIO. The concert will take place in November 2008.

Patrick Vena has won the INCONTRI CHITARRISTICI DI GARGNANO -competition in Gargnano, Italy 8.9.2007. 1st prize has been awarded only 14 times in the festivals 32-years history.

Biography
Patrick Vena began studying the guitar in the East-Helsinki musicschool in 1993. 1999 he began his professional studies with prof. Juan-Antonio Muro in Helsinki Polytechnic from where he graduated in 2003. Recently he played his final diploma concert in Helsinki after studying in Sibelius-Academy with prof. Jukka Savijoki. Vena studies also musicology in the University of Jyväskylä.
Vena has won several prizes in international competitions including Torrent, Valencia, Mottola, Printemps de la Guitare, "Barrios Competition", Nuoro, Sardinia, "Emilio Pujol", Sassari, Sardinia. Recently he won the 1st prize plus the "Carla Minen"-special prize in the Fernando Sor- competition in Rome, Italy.
Venas repertory consists of classical music of all periods. Music from the 1900
and Finnish contemporary music play very often a big role in his programs. In
addition to solo concerts he plays duos with flute, voice, guitar and romanian pan-flute.
